Therapeutic Yoga in Metaxourgeio, at Experimenta Art — every Wednesday, 19:00–20:00.

Come as you are. Tired, under pressure, with a busy mind or tension in your body.

Some days, we are not simply physically tired: we feel energetically overloaded. This therapeutic yoga class at Experimenta Art is a weekly space for releasing tension and returning to ourselves. We slow down, return to the breath and allow the body to settle and find its own rhythm again.

Here, you do not need to prove anything, and you do not need to push yourself to succeed.

What we will explore together

Through gentle therapeutic movement and practices such as pranayama, mantra, mudra, yin yoga and yoga nidra, we release tension in the neck, shoulders, diaphragm, lower back and pelvis. We make room for flow, harmony and inner calm, giving the body space to reconnect with its natural capacity for restoration. The intention is to leave feeling lighter, brighter and renewed.

The class is accessible to people of different ages: each session is adapted to the needs of the group and to each person's body.

The tools of our practice

• Therapeutic movement and somatic awareness: gentle flow, mobility, alignment, strengthening and the release of muscular tension.
• Pranayama: breathing practices for grounding, awareness of the breath and releasing stress.
• Mantra and mudra: tools for inner alignment and connection with the energetic meridians and chakras.
• Yin yoga: held postures of three to five minutes, exploring flexibility and the fascia.
• Yoga nidra: a guided practice for renewal and deep physical and mental relaxation.
• Meditation, guided visualisation and an energetic closing to the practice.

Original introductory prices

Drop-in: €13 per class.
Monthly: €40 for one class per week.

About Elena Tsokou

Elena works with holistic energy and therapeutic practices, with the intention of helping us connect with our inner alignment and the journey of the soul.

At the time of the original announcement, she had taught yoga in person for nine years and live online group classes for four years, welcoming students in Greece and abroad.

She trained in Kerala, India, at Vasishta Yoga Foundation with Guru Saji, Guru Shajesh and Maitrie. As part of her personal spiritual exploration, she stayed in ashrams associated with Amma, Ramana Maharshi and Sri Aurobindo in Puducherry, and visited Auroville. She completed an eleven-day Vipassana silent meditation experience at Dhamma Giri Vipassana Meditation Center.

Her teaching respects the body, emphasises the breath and brings attention to the nervous system and inner grounding.

Alongside yoga, she works as an energy practitioner using Reiki, in which she is a Master Teacher, Theta Healing, Pranic, Quantum Energy and SRT. She also offers energy body and facial massage for grounding and deep relaxation. Bringing together her tools and experience, she has developed her own holistic approach, Philotis Harmonia, adapted to each person's needs.

She creates wellbeing and yoga retreats centred on our connection with nature. At the time of this article, she was studying systemic constellations and systemic counselling.
